Design options for mobile diesel gensets

A diesel generator is housed in a noise-protective casing on a car trailer or a tractor trailer, in the body on a self-propelled chassis and is towed by any towing car

A diesel generator is housed in a heat-insulated container on a car trailer or a tractor trailer, in the body on a self-propelled chassis and is towed by any towing car

Placing a DG in cars, which provides full autonomy for the transportation of the genset

Using mobile diesel gensets in comparison with stationary ones has many advantages:
  • Placing a mobile DG where a stationary unit cannot be placed. This method of placing a genset will not require additional coordination with regulating bodies.
  • Gensets are mobile and convenient for transportation. This makes it possible to duplicate several facilities at the same time, as well as facilitates the delivery of a genset to a maintenance service point.
  • Full operational status – a DG mounted on a chassis does not require additional conditions or placing. There’s no need for building a foundation or prepare a special room for a diesel generator.
The selection of a mobile diesel genset depends on the conditions of equipment operation, as well as the weight and dimensions of a genset.
  • mobile diesel genset with a power   from 20 kW to 50 kW  inclusive are mounted on a single-axle chassis..
  • diesel gensets with a power  from 60 kW to 150 kW are mounted on two-axle chassis
  • genset with power  over 200 kW are mounted on a two-axle heavy-payload chassis (tractor ones). These trailers are equipped with working and parking brake systems and can be towed by cars, tractors, towing cars that have a pneumatic system and a pneumatic outlet for connecting the trailer brake system.
