1000 kW Cummins DG for a settlement in Primorsky Krai

In the summer 2022, Techexpo company delivered an open-type genset Cummins Cl400D5 1000 kW for the urban settlement Terney, Primorsky Krai.

The DG is designed for operation as the main power replacing an out-of-operation similar unit as part of a genset.

The open-type genset Cummins C1400D5 with a Cummins КТА50GЗ engine and a Stamford НVSI804 generator, 2^nd degree of automation. The DG is completed with an industrial silencer. Genset dimensions: 5105х2000х2238 mm.

A DG control board with an automatic control panel based on a DEIF AGC150 microprocessor controller with a parallel operation function was additionally manufactured.

Techexpo company delivered a diesel genset to Primorsky Krai to urban settlement Terney within the contract terms. A new DG was set to operate in parallel with the similar existing diesel genset. Techexpo maintenance department specialists carried out commissioning and installation supervision activities, the DG is fully serviced, is filled by process liquids and ready-to-use.

Commissioning:

Commissioning of the main technological equipment, commissioning of instrumentation and automation, commissioning of electrical equipment, commissioning of auxiliary equipment, measuring the density of the electrolyte and charging the battery, commissioning of the Heating and Water Supply system, commissioning of the fire and security alarm and ACS systems, starting the equipment in idle mode, calibrating the control panel, commissioning in idle mode, starting with a dead bus, checking the operation of high-voltage cells, checking the operation of the main protections, commissioning under load, supplying a step load to the DG with the control of technical parameters, conducting individual tests, drawing up electrical laboratory protocols, commissioning in power distribution mode, checking interchannel communications, control panel programming, loading tests in power distribution mode.

Installation supervision:

Visual inspection with drawing up a defect report, checking the completeness of spare parts and accessories, issuing the necessary permits, installing the exhaust system, installing the fuel system, connecting the auxiliaries source, transfer of the main equipment from the transport position to the standard one, installation of cable products.

The work area is located at a great distance from large settlements. The village of Terney is located within the boundaries of the Sikhote-Alin Nature Reserve and has no other source of electrical energy other than diesel generators. The existing equipment is severely worn out. In addition to connecting the DG to the existing generator, Techexpo LLC engineers faced the challenge of joining the new generator to the customer's 6 kV indoor switchgear.

The new equipment has proved effective when working on a real load. The customer also received the necessary instructions on the further operation of the new equipment and the modernization of the switchgear.
