Providing the FIFA Fan Fest 2018 fan park in Saint Petersburg with uninterruptable power

Solution

In summer 2018, Techexpo provided the fan park of the FIFA Fan Fest 2018 in Saint Petersburg with uninterruptable power. The FIFA Fan Fest 2018 was organized for the FIFA World Cup. The 18 058 sq. m. fan park was located in the center of Saint Petersburg on Konyushennaya square and accommodated to 15 000 people.

Our task was to provide three screens with electric power including the largest one measuring 16х9 meters, as well as a powerful sound and lighting system creating the effect of presence at the stadium.

Under the project, Techexpo delivered and mounted a power complex consisting of four 512 kW VibroPower VP640P diesel gensets with a total capacity of 2 MW. These are three-phase diesel gensets with an original diesel engine Perkins suitable for redundant and constant 24/7 power supply.

To connect the diesel gensets, loading cables (4 pcs.) and two switchgears KRUN-0,4 were used. Techexpo leased all equipment.

The diesel gensets are enclosed and placed outdoors in protective containers. When using them, all fire safety standards and operating conditions were observed.

The employees of our company provided the round-the-clock maintenance of the diesel gensets, fueling and cleaning of diesel generators, supplied fuel for the fest duration. Daily from June 14 to July 15 for 12 hours a day, the diesel gensets generated electric power and powered the FIFA 2018 fan park in Saint Petersburg.
