160 kW diesel generator set for United Engine Corporation data processing center

Providing a manufacturing complex DC with redundant electrical power

In November 2020, Techexpo completed work to provide a Salyut JSC United Engine Corporation (UEC) manufacturing complex data processing center (DC) with redundant electrical power. This is the largest machine-building complex, which designs and builds aircraft engines, provides maintenance services and carries out designer's supervision in the companies operating aircraft engines.

To accomplish the task, Techexpo:

1. delivered a 160 kW diesel genset
   

   A Teksan TJ220DW5C (160 kW) diesel generator set with a Korean Doosan P086TI engine in an all-weather soundproof enclosure. The fuel tank capacity is 330 liters. The diesel genset was additionally fitted with a low-noise silencer.

2. performed pre-construction and installation works to connect the diesel genset:

The Techexpo construction team built the diesel genset foundation with a waterproofing layer, installed the ground loop and laid 0.4 kV cable lines and control circuits from the diesel generator set to the consumer (DC). The route length indoors is about 120 m, about 15 meters of the route were laid in the trench in the ground, with the subsequent recovery of asphalt covering.

3. installed the diesel generator set

After the foundation preparation and power supply line laying, the diesel genset was installed on the foundation and electrical facilities were installed in the data center premises (diesel genset automatic transfer switch).

4. precommissioning

All the operation modes of the diesel genset (no-load and on-load) and available start/stop methods were tested, the performance of the utility systems of equipment was checked: fire alarm and ventilation systems, the working sequence of switchboards was checked, inspection reports and test certificates for installed electrical equipment were drawn up. Equipment was visually inspected concerning service fluids spills.

Upon completing construction and installation works and checking all working systems, the diesel genset was handed over to the representatives of UEC JSC – Salyut manufacturing complex with as-built documentation, namely:

• diesel genset foundation drawings;
• outer ground loop drawings;
• cable line routing plans, including the laying method, calculation and selection of cable section and rated current of switching devices;
• AST circuit and algorithms design (AST operational manual in Russian); diesel genset operational manual in Russian; single-line power supply schemes.

A briefing was provided for the diesel genset maintenance staff.
