Diesel generators with a dual-cycle cooling system for Titan-2 corporate group (Rosatom) for Leningrad NPP -2

Delivering Russian-manufactured diesel genset with a dual-cycle cooling system

Techexpo delivered the third 75 kW diesel genset for Leningrad nuclear genset-2 (Leningrad NPP-2, Titan-2 corporate group CJSC) in Sosnovy Bor in 2019. The delivery differs in diesel gensets having Russian components (import substitution system) and a dual-cycle cooling system. In 2017, Techexpo delivered three diesel gensets for this facility:

• These are 75 kW and 100 kW diesel gensets of the 1^st level of automation and one more 75 kW – of the 3^rd level of automation (automatic fuel and oil refueling from external tanks). All the gensets are used for strategic purposes in a fallout shelter for more than 2000 people in the territory of Leningrad NPP-2.
• The diesel gensets with a dual-cycle cooling system designed and manufactured according to technical specifications TU 3378-002-40842619-03 to be used as main or standby AC power source for operation in special-purpose buildings. The diesel genset consists of a diesel and a generator assembled on the common welded frame with assemblies and systems providing the diesel genset operation (radiator, cooling and lubricating pipes, actuation devices and automation system sensors, etc.), as well as an automatic control board. The diesel fly-wheel casing and generator front flange board are fixedly connected forming a common diesel-generator unit, which is installed on the frame through shock-absorbers. The diesel bent shaft torque passes to the generator rotor by an elastic bolt coupling or special discs, which also provide the diesel and generator aligning and damp torsion motions.
• Cooling system — double-cycle with water-to-oil coolers:

- internal circuit – to cool the diesel with the coolant pumped in the diesel system by a water pump;

- outer circuit – to cool the internal circuit coolant liquid in the water-to-oil cooler with the outer circuit water pumped by a pump unit with an independent electric motor-driven drive.
