Task Provision of a backup power source of domestic assembly for the needs of a large energy sector enterprise on the Kamchatka Peninsula in a turnkey format, as well as carrying out installation and commissioning supervision at the Customer's facility.
Solution Delivery of two diesel power plants with a total capacity of 2.4 MW in all-welded containers with an extended warranty and an extended set of spare parts.

In early 2026, Techexpo completed a project to supply two container-type outdoor power plants to one of the most remote geographical locations in Russia, the Kamchatka Peninsula. It was important for the Customer, a large regional energy company, to put into operation Russian-made DGS (diesel generator set). Two TE.1200S-T6300-2RN power plants with a total capacity of 2,400 kW were assembled at the Techexpo production site in St. Petersburg.

DGSs are designed to be used as a backup source of electricity supply to consumers in a populated area and operate in addition to alternative sources of electricity generation, such as wind farms..


Since power generation from wind farms is stochastic, even despite the high windiness of the region, the Customer needed a stable backup source of electricity, independent of external factors.

A distinctive feature of the project is the control system of both DGS: it is implemented on the basis of two control panels — Cummins PCC3.3 and ComAp InteliGen. This was a conscious requirement of the Customer.

According to the project, two diesel stations were delivered as part of:

  • DGS TE.1200S-T6300-2RN;

  • Cummins KTA50-G8 engine;

  • Stamford S7H1D-F4 generator;

  • Cummins PCC3.3 and ComAp InteliGen control panels;

  • CSR-6 kV high-voltage cells — input and output;

  • battery charger from 220 V mains;

  • fuel tank 990 L;

  • auxiliary switchboard;

  • additional oil tank;

  • Smartgen coolant heaters;

  • all-welded containers with ventilation valves, silencing chambers for supply and exhaust ventilation with a separate compartment for the generator cell;

  • a set of spare parts (cooling system drive belts, fine and coarse filters, oil and air filters

Technical characteristics of DGS:

  • main power of 1200 kW;

  • backup power of 1320 kW;

Complete set of all-welded containers

All-welded and vandal-proof containers with insulation of 100 mm are designed for operation in the temperature range from -50 to +50C. The containers meet the III degree of fire resistance and are equipped with a critical muffler (-30-45 Db) with a catalytic converter for exhaust gases. The lighting is 220 V main and 24 V emergency. The fire safety system is represented by a powder fire extinguishing system and a security and fire alarm system. Supply and exhaust ventilation based on valves with automatic electric drives. The fuel system includes a 990 L consumable fuel tank. with electric and manual fuel pumping pump. The outer lining of the containers is made of profiled sheets of steel with a thickness of at least 1.5 mm, the inner lining of the walls and ceiling is made of profiled sheets of white color, the floor, walls and ceiling of the container have a layer of thermal insulation made of a hard-to-burn material. All structural elements of the block containers, which are subject to corrosion processes, are protected by a special coating.


Commissioning works

At the Customer's facility, Techexpo specialists completed the necessary project-related commissioning work:

  • connecting the DGS to the power plant, carrying out work with a high-voltage electrical laboratory to check the electrical connections of the power plant;

  • spilling and refilling of technical liquids;

  • setting up the control panel;

  • checking and adjusting the powder fire extinguishing system;

  • checking and adjusting security and fire alarm system;

  • checking the operation of DGS under load;

  • trial runs in «Manual» and «Auto» modes.

 

Warranty

The customer was provided with an extended warranty: 24 months or 1000 operating hours. It applies to all component parts and accessories supplied by the project.
