Maintenance of diesel gensets at the sites of the 'Vodosnabzhenie Sankt Peterburga' branch

From February 2020 to December 2020, Techexpo company provided services for diesel genset maintenance at the sites of ‘Vodosnabzhenie Sankt Peterburga’ branch, Vodokanal Sankt Peterburga state unitary enterprise, which provides electricity for the emergency operation of water pumping stations at the sites of Vodokanal Sankt Peterburga State Unitary Enterprise.

In total, there were 17 diesel gensets for maintenance at 5 facilities of the Vodokanal branch:

Within the provision of maintenance services for diesel gensets, scheduled maintenance-1 and maintenance-2 were carried out, and, if necessary, emergency maintenance of the diesel genset was carried out during the contract period.

DG maintenance includes the following list of operations:

• trial run of diesel genset (‘under load’);
• a thorough inspection of all equipment and all diesel genset systems, elimination of defects identified during the inspection;
• diagnostics of the state of each starter battery of the diesel genset starting system with the measurement of their capacity, rejection and replacement of faulty ones;
• test operation of an automated fire-fighting unit by simulating a fire in a containerized diesel genset, using special buttons on the fire detectors, with the fire extinguishing aerosol generators turned off (for containerized diesel genset);
• replacing the fuel system filter of the diesel genset engine;
• replacing the air filter of the air supply system of the diesel engine of the diesel genset;
• replacing the oil filter and engine oil of the oil system of the diesel genset engine;
• replacing the coolant filter and the coolant of the diesel engine cooling system of the diesel genset;
• checking the condition and tension of all diesel genset drive belts;
• checking the degree of contamination of the radiator fins and cleaning them if necessary;
• checking and adjusting the pump-injectors of the diesel engine of the diesel genset, if necessary, replacing them;
• aligning axes and checking clearances of diesel engine valves of the diesel genset;
• draining the sludge and water accumulated at the bottom of the fuel tank of the diesel genset;
• cleaning and diagnostics of the electronic control panel of the diesel genset;
• taking preventive measures for switching devices, relays, instruments, alarm indicators; power supply and control board;
• checking and setting up the operation of the emergency warning system, protection and synchronization systems;
• diagnosing the state and correct operation of the diesel genset container temperature sensors (for containerized diesel genset);
