KSO is a metal shell with a set of electrical equipment placed inside it, assembled according to the established scheme. The shell parts are made of galvanized steel using high-precision equipment, by cold stamping.

CHAMBERS COMPARTMENTATION
The VE compartment is designed to accommodate a power switch. On the back wall of the compartment there are six bushings with sockets for detachable current-carrying connections. To ensure safety, the compartment is equipped with a shutter mechanism that closes the internal cavities of the bushings when the SE is removed from the operating position.
VE is a bogie consisting of movable and fixed parts, connected by a screw gear, with the equipment of the main circuit installed on it. The movable part of the bogie is a platform with four metal wheels, on which the electrical equipment is installed, and the fixed part serves as a stop for the screw mechanism. SE inside the chamber can take two fixed positions - working and control. The operating position is the main position of the WP, in which it is located most of the time of the operating period. In this case, the VE trolley is pushed into the compartment as much as possible, the VE main circuit is connected to the KSO main circuit using detachable socket-type contact connections. Operation of the circuit breaker is permitted under load.
The high-voltage compartment is designed to accommodate the main electrical equipment of the main circuit, busbars and installation fittings for cable connections. The circuit earthing switch is located under the SE compartment. Operation with the earthing switch is carried out using a special rotation handle through a torsion shaft brought out to the front side of the chamber. The end part of the shaft has a square cross-section for engagement with the operating handle. High-voltage edema has special cutouts on the end sides of the chamber for passing the busbars. The cutouts can be equipped with end metal partitions with bushings to ensure the localization of the electric arc within one chamber.
The design of the KSO provides guaranteed localization of the electric arc within the chamber during an internal short circuit. On the rear wall of the chamber, there are unloading valves designed to relieve excess gas pressure and remove the products of electric arc combustion.
KSO are equipped with MBRZ (microprocessor relay protection unit). In addition to the main function (protective), such devices have additional functions of automation, service, can play the role of input-output devices in the ACS, as well as control and measurement devices.
Communication with the ACS can be carried out using RS-485 or Ethernet interfaces (twisted pair or fiber optic). Information exchange can be carried out using various communication protocols Modbus, IEC 60870, IEC 61850, SPA-Bus.
